Second time at Holiday Inn Guildford. I was here in August 2021 with my family, and here again this year with my 3 boys. Our 2 week stay has been superb. The breakfast especially was rich and varied with well prepared options. The restaurant staff were just solid gold. Always smiling and pleasant. Clearly eager to help and in such friendly and welcoming ways. They were especially good with my kids. And I observed how unfailingly courteous they were to guests. The whole team - Gemma, Iwona, Ling, Anna and John - were such terrific hosts. I am so glad my kids and I got to know them over our 2 week stay. The recent face lift to the lobby and restaurant also gives the place real warmth and style. Edit. Just realised that my previous review (in August 2021) had suggested towels on the bathroom floor. Here we are in January 2023, floor towels are provided in the bathroom and changed every single day. Impressive.

We had an early morning flight from Gatwick Airport. We decided to travel up the day before we were due to fly but we hadn’t booked anywhere. A quick google search and this Hotel popped up. We booked and travelled from South Wales all within 4 and an half hours. We had a lovely welcome from the staff on reception. Our room was great, clean and comfy, just what we needed for the overnight stay. We had dinner at the hotel which was a lovely meal served by very professional staff. Breakfast the next morning was very good value with such a lot of choice. If we ever need to do an early morning flight again, we would not hesitate to book this hotel again. Thank you for starting our holiday off in such a relaxing way.

Room was decent size and clean. Quiet. Heating/air con a little loud but worked well. Good clean bathroom with bath and shower. Shower nice. Good supply of liquid soap, shampoo, and shower gel in wall dispensers. Breakfast had lots of hot and cold choices. I particularly liked the scrambled eggs! Tea/coffee choices from a machine with herbal teas available and hot water. Restaurant had plenty of space and seating options. Also ate dinner there. Many dinner options including kids menu. If you are staying at the hotel and you have a main course, kids eat free from the kids menu.

Very friendly and attentive staff. Just a little disappointed that the room service selection as only offered frozen pizzas and as we arrived fairly late (4hrs+ from Bristol) we were very hungry so had to order an Uber Eats in the ned. All in it was brilliant and we will deffo be staying there again as we initially stayed there a few months back to meet a breeder in Goldaming and this time we picked up our new puppy. For anyone wishing to stay there, please don't let the slight disappointment of the room service selection put you off; it's a minor issue tbh. :)

Generally the facilities of the hotel are fine, you have everything in the same place. Location is very convenient if you are in a car. As you can reach major airports, London and place of interests within an Hour easily. Near to Guildford, which is a nice city with good restaurants and city life. Also a train station with direct departures to Waterloo station in London. All in all, an excellent choice!
